Plaster Masks
Our face masks are a cut above a photograph: a reproduction of your face with three dimensional realism.
The process is simple and requires an hour of your time. These are the steps:
- Apply lubricant to the face
- Cover hair with shower cap
- Apply Plaster of Paris to the face
- Meditate for three minutes while it hardens
- Remove hardened mask
- Clean up
Once the plaster face mask is dry I press clay into the mold and wait for it to firm up. I then remove the clay from the plaster mould and work on refining the facial imprint. I make several imprints to ensure I've captured every detail from the plaster impression. Once dry the masks are fired to approximately 2100°.
The charge for this experience including your mask is $125.00 plus tax with additional copies at $45.00.
